Im so happy this week!
We have move on to service week. meaning waitressing.
I used to think I really hate talking to people and take orders, serve drink, serve food, but it can really become fun!

we begin at CDV (cafe du village) and wad we do basically,
1. setting up table (large knife at the right, large fork at the left, napkin facing the guest, glass one finger size in front of the knife)
2.wait for guests (who are les roches students too..and since cdv is the sch's restaurant, they eat free..same for market place and a la carte..why free? cos those who r cooking are the year 2 students..its their practical class..and anw we alr paid for food in sch for like 300 francs a mth =.=)
3.greet customer, give them e menu, take orders
4.give order to kitchen
5. when kitchen calls, take order and bring to guest, must serve them from the right side (if teacher doesnt observe, just heck)
6.wait until they finish appetizer
7. take empty plate, we have to carry 3 heavy plates in 1 arm..i still haven mastered it =.=)
8.serve them main course
9.serve dessert

so anw it was fun if u enjoy it, help ur friends when they r busy, as long as u dont complain it will seem wonderful ^^

WHICH REMINDS ME, FINALLY WE GOT TO RESERVE AT A LA CARTE!!!!!!!! \\( ^0^)//

oh GOD we have been waiting for like 2 weeks to reserve, and its either clashes w our night duty or the tables are full.
why is it always full?
A la carte is the name of fine dining restaurant in the sch, where again the food is FREE, but we pay if we want to drink wine etc..
and FINALLYYYY we managed to reserve for 2 weeks from now.
finally can wear nice clothes and eat nice food ^^
hohohoho...btw hopefully i can lose 2 kg before a la carte cos i SERIOUSLY looked like a ball now flat short and round T__T

ok dats all noww...loving my life so much..will have to send many many letter to apply for internship now and STUDY cos exams are coming! want lots of perfect score ^^

I just realised how unfriendly I am in people's eyes.
especially for first impression =x

yesterday, shelly jenny and hansol came to my room and we where discussing our first impression of each other.
Shelly made me LMAO when she was imitating ME.
she said I was very fierce when it was the first meeting, I didnt smile at all and my outfit dat was all black further emphasis i wasnt friendly...

She said I just stand there, with both my hands in my jackets' pockets and look around with no smile on my face.. Shelly, who is like the most smiley and energetic in our grp was even SCARED to smile at me.
I dunno why when she imitated the situation on that day I find it really hilarious..

However I do admit that most of the time I am not friendly for first meeting.
Usually I will take sometime to decide whether I will like the person or not, but if I do like the person, i will be really nice afterwards :) if not ya...too bad =x

Sometimes I envy Shelly, who can be really outgoing to ANYBODY. she smiled and laughed and talk to everybody with no exception. and she only takes a while before she feels really close to someone.
Just like today, we (Shelly, Jenny, Hansol, Marion and I) were eating brunch together.
when we separated to go to our own dorms, I kissed Marion on the cheek and then suddenly Shelly throw herself at Marion! hahaha Marion was so surprised (btw Marion and Shelly only met a few times, and I am much closer to Marion cos she is my classmate and I always sit w her). it was so funny. Marion was like "Woooww!!" and she had to hold shelly's weight before both of them fell down.

Anw ya thats Shelly, she is one of a kind. Very nice to everyone, which is good but she has to becareful cos some ppl might take advantage of her. She laughs non stop and she SERIOUSLY has unlimited energy. I secretly think she might have a disorder where she cant sit down quitely for too long. hyperactive is the layman term.

Ok, more about Jenny and Hansol.
Jenny is the very elegant, very reserved, sweet girl.
She is the most lady like among all of us. and her dream is to meet a guy who she will marry.
She doeesnt date for fun. she only date a guy who she can already dream as her husband.
She believes in this fairy tale more than any of us. Jenny is a very pretty Thai girl and she is the prettiest Thai girl in school I have seen so far. She is also very soft spoken but she is not boring. (because usually soft spoken ppl are boring, no offense =x altho all my frens who are reading these blogs I am QUITE SURE nobody is soft-spoken :P)

Hansol is my Korean girl, she is only a yr younger than me, so sometimes I feel I can relate to her better. Although the school has a big population of Korean, she does not join them, as she feels uncomfortable w them. I think its because more than one Korean guys have crushes on her and she feels dat the girls dont like her because they are jealous.. Girls are so funny huh..
She is the most quiet in our group so she is also the best listener..She is v matured too, thinking about how she shouldnt be in r/s cos she knows she cant control her feelings, and will want to be w her bf everyday and abandon her sch stuff..she thinks abt her parents and her responsiblities often.. (for this we are v similar)

Thats all abt them for now..I am lucky that I met them because they are really sincere and nice girls :) Of course they are also Marion, Anna, Alessia and some others who made sch really fun ^^

Anna is going to be my half roomie by tmr..i REALLY like her..but she told me she is going to have lots of party in her room..im nt very sure i will like all e noise =x

But pls dont think I am forgetting my bestfrens in Spore and Indo..
I will never ever do dat..everyone has a special place in my heart. Dont worry there is enough space. HAHA.

Les Roches

Urghh..the weather is so cold and dry, its making the skins of my hands crack open and bleeds..
it looks kinda horror looking..like reddish and really dry..and some blood spots here and there..>.<
I LOVE the snow, but I really hate the cold..
why cant it be snow and not cold? I know Im asking stupid questions >.<

At the moment i just finished my CV/resume, which is going to be used by the school to send it to hotels. If they are interested at my CV, they will contact me and ask for interviews. If I pass the interviews, then I got the job. Truth be told, if I am the hotel human resource manager and I look at my own CV, I dont think I will choose myself. I am not special enough. HWAAAAAAA
but sadly there is really nothing much I can say anymore. I dont have experience in hotels, no experience in restaurants..so I am really pessimistic about this internship..even MORE pessimistic about Four Seasons.. T_T

haiz...On a brighter note,
I do love my subjects and the teachers are pretty good. These are what we are studying this semester:
1. Foreign Language (that is french for me)
2.Introduction to Computer (really easy so I really hope I can score in this)
3.Room Division Operations (what is housekeeping, what is front office..all the theory)
4.English (how to make CV, and English at higher level)
5.Housekeeping and Front Office Practical (love it!! the teacher will ask for role play, some of us become the receptionist, some become managers, and some guests...she will give us real life situations and we have to know what to do)
6.Personal Professional Development (Managerial stuff..coaching etc..)
7.Bar and Beverage (the most interesting and the hardest to memorize. everything about WINE, COCKTAILS, SPIRITS..the history of wine..the making of wine..types of wine and its characteristics..best go with wad food..etc..)

Which reminds me, we are going to winery next next week!!
we will get to see how wine is made, and if we want to buy, we get 10% off!! I think I will buy :D :D

This is how the system works in Les Roches
week 2: stewarding (cleaning for harsher word, includes polishing, and all the dirty
kitchen stuff+ cleaning science class (the theory part, food hygiene like bacteria and stuff)
week 3: stewarding
week 4 and 5: academic. means we wear uniform ( the business suit) and we only go to classes.
week 6 and 7: service. means practical, we wear service uniform, with vest and tie and skirt, and
we serve people who are eating at the restaurants (which are other students). mine
will be at CDV (cafe du village) where ppl eat 3 courses of meal.
week 8 and 9:back to academic. lessons again.
week 10: back to service. (should be at PFA. another school's restaurant)
week 11: mid term break for 8 days.

What I like here is that they do a lot of changing, always change practical-academic-practical-academic every week. If you are someone that is easilly bored like me, this system works perfect. but some of my acquintances think there is too much practical. but its perfect for me :)

AHHH God Im really a sucker for romantic novels.
any good novels that got to do with true love and friendships just make me cry like nobody's business.

That was a title of a French song that we were listening in class today.

I have to say, I LOVE MY FRENCH CLASS.
Because I passed the basic test, I was able to go to pre-intermediate french class. But I got a shock of my life when the teacher speaks french THE WHOLE SESSION of 2 hours!!
And the rest of my classmates are able to speak french either fluently or almost fluent. O.O
I was like "wad the heck are they doing in pre-intermediate..their levels are like advanced already."

Some ppl like Florian, the German guy, its just the type of guy u want to kill.
not because he was really bad, but because he speaks GERMAN, FRENCH, ITALIAN, SPANISH and ENGLISH FLUENTLYYY...i must repeat...FLUENTLLYYYY!!

why is this so important?? because in a hotel industry, they judge u by how many languages u speak. its true. its just the fact and we have to accept that.

But anyway, I am lucky that I can understand her 60% of the time. Those that I cant understand, I can ask my other classmates. and the class was really fun. We listened to some French songs today, sing together and then the teacher tell us the meaning of the songs lyrics.
She is so cool. She is abit hippie kind, sometimes she wear really elegant head to toe black clothes, sometimes she mix colours. But she is really nice and cool.
We also took a lot of class pictures with Poom's camera, which he will put in Fb, so I have to add him soon. Also fulfilling the request of ppl who wanna see him : Lona and Trudy.

It was really funny when everyone was gathering for the class pics, 2 korean girls were still sitting down at their chairs, I was already besides Alessia and squeezed amongs the talls ones and then Poom tell them "Asian! c'mon! join the group!'
and Andrea ( a girl from Cheqoslovakia..if dats how u spell it, She is also one of my classmates and she is also very nice. I am very lucky btw, that most of my classmates are nice to me, we will talk, eat lunch, sit tgt in class, sit tgt during break.. I rarely sit w Asian ppl cos anw there are not many, I am lucky because I recently found out that the Western ppl in Shelly's and Jenny's class are not that friendly.) said to me: " Poom is really the right guy to say that."
What she means is that if it were some Western that made dat comments it will be regarded as offensive and racist. But Poom is Asian himself so its no problemoo...

Anyway..since the Valentine is coming, let me teach u guys something..
This is how to ask a person out:
"Vous etes libre a Dimanche?"
pronounce as : Vu zet libre a dimongs?
Vous etes means are you?
Libre means free
a dimanche means on Sunday

I HAVE to be rich one day. rich enough to stay at Four Seasons chains of hotel anywhere.
I am drooling right now looking at the pictures of their rooms. they use marble floors, very greece kind of design and interior, with a lot of beautiful sculptures and luxurious bath tubs, gold door handles, gold ornaments everywhere...its impeccable. perfect. parfait.

I am going to apply for internships soon, and our first year of internship (June till Nov or Dec depending on the hotel demands) will be in F&B department. not cooking, that will be next year. So we have to decide where we want to go, some of my friends are going Maldives, USA, France,Spain, whatever..I am deciding to stay in Swiss. Most probably the French part of Swiss, cos I am clueless about Italy and German =x. I am SOOOOOOOOOO hoping Four seasons will take me as their interns. Im so gonna pray everyday. please please please please pleaseeeeeee take meeee

The fear of rejection is clouding me now. I am VERY scared that none of the luxurious hotels in Swiss will take me. I am actually considering America, but we need to pay visa, which is not cheap, ranging from 800 francs-2000 francs...
If I stay in swiss, I dont have to pay visa..
I just realize how suck it is to be Asian...we have to apply visa for everywhere cos the Europeans just dont trust Asian people..(except Singapore I believe..because I think they dont need visa to most of the Europe countries)

huffff.....
why is it that Indonesia is so problematic with other countries..
if they have good bilateral relations this visa thing wont even be happening..

Money can buy everything?? Agree or disagree?

I think it depends on what is your goal in life, I will personally admit I think money helps human get ALMOST everything they want. Realistically, I dont believe in a saying "love conquers everything." some people say they can live without money and just love. Really?? can love pay for your food?? U show the restaurant manager how lovey dovey u are and then u get all the food free?

I am not an anti-love person, well I am just being sarcastic but mostly realistic. :)

Today I met a girl who sat with me and Jenny, and she was telling her love story to us. She said she is going to get married after she finished her Pgd (which is s2 in indo) and go back to some rural village in China and get married to her Soldier boyfriend. SOLDIER. and what she really means is she is going to let go everything, her future, her degree just to get married and be with him. Her father doesnt approve of her relationship because he sent her here to have good degree and to have a good job and she wants to throw it away. What i can say is that Love can really make a person become a fool. and she is in PGD mind you, so she is NOT young. she has an adult mindset and adult thinking. wth is she thinking man...

She said money is not everything, and she perfers happiness, yes sure, but BE SMARTER! u can get both!

Furthermore, please think of your parents. Dont be so selfish. U are still using their money, and dont let it end up in a bin cos of ur loveeee...Ur boyfriend should not be the only one that matters to u. Your parents are important too. Dont regret it that only when they are gone then u will realize it.

To girls out there, please dont throw your future for a guy. its not worth it. What if the guy left u with 2 kids and u end up degreeless, moneyless, skillless (cos u dont practise the skill u had in school) and u found urself wondering why were u so stupid. Okay AGAIN im not anti marriage, but THINK CAREFULLY before u choose ur path of life.

why do men (and some women) cheat???
well I know for one, I read somewhere that human is not born monogamous.

But once u are in r/s u should know what is right and what is wrong.
I always feel so strong towards my girlfriends. and when they are hurt by their boyfriends, I wanna punch the guys until he cant see anymore so NO girls will want them anymore.

I feel so sicken by this and the fact that it happens soooo many times to so many of my girlfriens just turn my stomach upside down. I think once I really master kick boxing these guys would be my first victims. Watch it guys. Don't play around with my friends. You dont know what u are in for.

Skiing for beginners

Have u ever wondered why the westerners and Europeans become more matured much faster than the Asians?

One of the reasons is, which I think plays a big role in their lives, is that they have learnt to be independent from the very beginning of their infant lives. Just take today for example, I saw MANYY not one or two, but MANY TENS of young kids, as young as 4 or 5 years old, learning how to SKI by themselves. They fall, they stand up on their own. And they slide again. None of the parents will be running and screaming “are you okay honey??” and then wipe off any snow on their pants while the (usual) Asian kids continue to cry. None of the kids that I saw today even whine when they fall down. They just got up and ski again. And that aspect really mesmerized me. Western kids are brought up so independent from the start, that it is not unusual seeing many of them have a very matured thoughts and behaviours at teenagers age. Of course, in any basket of apples, there are always rotten ones. So of course, they are always those that are forever childish and just want to play around.

I guess there are goods and bads about the ways Western parents bring up their children. There are always goods and bads for everything. The only one thing that I hope my parents have thought me differently is that I should be more independent earlier. I always feel that it is shameful that at this age I still getting allowance from my parents. I can’t wait for the time when I will have the ability to give allowance to my parents. So that’s why I promise myself, I will NEVER EVER whine about studying. NEVER EVER complain that studying is painful and stressful. NOPE. I will study as hard as I can and I will love and score in every single subject. I promise myself that.

On another note, skiing today was delightful. Only me and Shelly went up to ski because Hansol and Jenny did not want to come. So we went with the school bus, and reach the skiing place. 1 IMPORTANT thing I learn today: Skiing is EXPENSIVE. It is bloody expensive. We spent 35 renting the shoes and the ski equipment. And 35 its already discounted 10 francs cos we are from school, and then we need to buy special gloves because the teacher said the ones that we had are going to make our hands feel like its not there anymore. So I bought the cheapest, which was on discount from 35 to 17.5, shelly bought a professional one at 89. And then we need to buy two way tickets and the guy at the counter refused to give us special discounts eventhough we are students and in group of 12. At first he asked us to pay 69 for 2 way tickets which is 69 francs. AFTER we already paid then we tell him we are beginners, and he said “Ohh you have to tell me you are beginners. For beginners its 25.” (=.= )wth wth…

But the skiing lesson was fun, the school hired a teacher for us, and we learnt how to make turns, how to properly stop and right body positions for everything. It was cold but the fun overcame the cold J We also stopped for lunch and had nice hot drink and I tasted the NICEST wine ever today. Its hot wine but they put lemon inside it, the wine taste so good and sweet…goshh now I want more (>.<)”…and it only costs 5 francs…

I want to put some pics here but there r stg wrong with my BB…it cannot detect my comp..so I cannot send it to my comp.. or im just too noob.. >.<

Ytd there was one highlight that I need to pinpoint:

I am SO GLAD there are still good Samaritans in this world. I have been looking high and low for adaptor for my BB, ever since I come to Swiss I cannot charge my BB cos the adaptor cannot fit in. So ytd when Shelly, Jenny and I went for Thai food at Sierre, we walked around and took pics of course :p and we found an electricity shop! So we went in and asked for it, and Jenny was trying to explain to the young guy who cannot speak English, after 5 mins he gave up trying to guess what we wanted and he called his dad (I assumed) who spoke fluent English. I told him again what I wanted and he found it and when I asked how much he said “We have this here because..Well I dunno why we have this adaptor here because we usually don’t sell it…so here you go..I’m giving it to you..no charge”

I was like “WHATTT???NO no no…I’ll pay..no Seriously I can’t take it like that..” Jenny and Shelly were as stunned as I was..they were like covering their mouths that have opened so big and our eyes are as about to come out because of the shock. But he insisted on giving it free, so I REALLY wanted to buy my webcam there but sadly they do not have it.. T_T I told Jenny and Shel we should come back there if we need any comp stuff…haix…the guy was so nice…

This evening ended with us having dinner at Market Place, Shelly and Hansol went for volleyball while Jenny came to my room and we watched Police Academy tgt…very funny series…u guys shld watch it if u come across :)

Geneva!

OOhh im still so tired..the after effect of Geneva and kick boxing =x

Anw..Geneva is just like another modern city..but the buildings are DAMNN NICE..like the old historic european buildings..and its FREAKING COLDDDDDDDDDDD
I was only wearing 2 layers..cos I was tinking "ahh..Geneva wont be as cold as Bluche (place where I live). We are living on a mountain..how can it be colder than mountain"

yea..then I learnt my lesson =.= my teeths practically keep dancing w each other w the sound of "kretek kretek" cos i was shivering and freezing.

So we (Shelly, Jenny, Hansol and I) left Bluche ar 8.19 am..We took a funicular to Sierre (one of the nearest city). Btw public transport here is reallyyy on time. like when they say its coming at 8.19 it will. not even delay for a min. which is bad news if u miss it. cos u have to wait another hour =x
Sierre is just small city but it took like half an hr to get there.. =.= and 10 francs too..
Sierre is the place where we shop at for groceries and stuffs and if u wanna watch movies..cos at Bluche is a very little village. we dont even have like 7 eleven =.=

sooooooo...we reached Sierre..we walked to the train station...and then we applied for the half price ticket..so that whenever we take public transport we pay half only..and to apply it we paid 150 francs for a year..haix..everythg is so exp here..
then we took the train to GENEVA!..it was 2 hours ride...all of us fell asleep somewhere after 1 hr talking non stop..including Shelly, the one dat never goes out of energy..lol

when we reached Geneva, we were confused..cos eventho Hansol has been there ebfore for 4 times, she said she just walked around w her frens..so we bought map and we approached a hotel..asking for direction cos we wanna find a Thai restaurant..Understand us, we have been eating european foods for EVERY MEAL and EVERY DAY so...we badly need Asian food..

the guy at the hotel told us
"this map is too big..i will give a small one"
me and jenny were like "wth..then why we spent 8 francs for the map just now =.="
Sooo we walked our way arnd and we found the Korean restaurant..nearest to the hotel just now.
guess what..it doesnt open for lunch! only 7pm-11pm..so we decided to have it for dinner instead.

Thennn we saw a DEPARTMENT STORE! I was superrrrr happyyy
pls understand ppl. i havent seen a mall in a mth...
so while i was shopping w hansol, jenny and shelly were starving so they went around to find a Thai restaurant.. so we forced Hansol to stop shopping and we went to eat. it was not bad but wasnt that good either..and it cost 20 francs..=x

after lunch, we continue shoppung at MAROT (shopping mall's name)
and we crossed over the bridge to go to a BIGGER shopping paradise...we happily shopped for other necessities but clothes and only at 5.30 we saw H&M (its like the topshop at spore) and it wad having sale!! we were like frantically choosing clothes..cos in A La carte (the fine dining resto in our sch) we have to eat there w FORMAL clothes..like dress and stuff..and we were in the dressing room when they keep forcing us to leave cos they close at 6. IT WAS SATURDAY AND THEY CLOSE AT 6...sighh..ppl here really dont want money..
Anw I should have really brought more dresses and nice clothes cos ppl here do dress up..esp in the weekend..when we walked along we saw more stores dat make us salivate..a lot of H&Ms, and a lot of exclusive stores like Bally, LV, and stuffs..I just found out from my sis that Bally is actually Swiss-made..

it was getting chillier and chillier and we made our way back to the Korean restaurant and Shelly keep stopping to take pics that make Hansol impatient cos she was really tired..
but i am so sure dat all the pics are damnnnn nicee...wait and see when shelly upload :)

The Korean food was very appetizing...and it was costlytoo!
but oh well..we only go to Geneva like every now and then..we took train back home..but when we reached Sierre, its already 11pm, AGAIN, PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN SWISS stopped at 9!
I really feel the need to emphasis how laid back ppl here are...

So we took a cab, which cost 60 francs..but divide to 4 of us...so not so bad..anw we dont have any other choice T.T

well dats it abt Geneva, it was really long tiring but satisfying day :D

The day before we went to Geneva, on Friday nite we went kick boxing..and I was pairing w Shelly and she and Jenny kept saying that my kick was powerful..which I said "it feels powerful to u cos u r a girl but our real enemy is like big guys.."
which made me really want to find a guy to be my victim..to practise my punch and my kick but I dont want him to hit back =x

Ytd I had my duty w Florian, Anna, Khue,Spencer and Poom, and we were mized w the other half of our class, which we never had duty with..their names Julia and Gabriella. I think they r Spanish..anw half way doing duty, Florian told me that he saw julia STOLE the cutleries!
And its not like a pair, she went in, took like 6 of each or stg, and then went to her locker..and apparently she does it frequently..
Khue also said, last month she was suspended for stealing juices..
I mean...wth...why juice???

Im pretty sure she has money so the problem is up there..in the head..kleptomania is the name of the disease..whr they got thrill from stealing..
this is one of the reason why I dont really like rich ppl..usually there is always stg wrong w them..
