These week and the upcoming week is insanely packed weeks.
Last week we had to wake up at 5 and work till 5 pm.
This week is not so bad, but I have to wake up at 8, study for my exam, and report to school at 10. We begin practical duty at 11 all the way to 2030 pm.
Imagine how exhausting it is.
Actually I dont feel tired at all, and I was enjoying myself the whole time, only
today when my body break down, i feel nauseated and started to have diarrhea, then Jenny told me "I think u are too exhausted.."
and yea I realised maybe I was pushing myself a bit too much. I was a runner for many times, carrying heavy plates and run here and there, tgt with my diet regime (try not to eat anythg fatty) my body finally complains. sigh.
Altho I can sleep till 8, but usually I only slept at 12am or 1am, like the other time it was Khue's bday so we all went to had some wine and beers, just girls night out with Poom. and reach home at 12, talked to Anna till 1am and wake up and study again.
so today i finally give in to my body and skip class. >.<
my plan for the next week?
Fri : service concept exam, watch auction nite ( whr ppl buy other ppl for a date)after that go home and study
Sat: study
Sun: study
Mon: Room division exam, A la carte dinner w SHJ, study
Tues: Front Office exam, study
Wed: supposed to have dinner w Florian and the Germans but I think not anymore, SO??STUDY!
Thurs: Bar and Beverage exam
Fri: cultural night (where diff countries show performance and put up booth) gotta be interesting :D, the Indonesians are participating. me inside yay!
Fri nite: gotta have some fun w the class' girls cos we deserve it after a bloody long week!
ok will try to get some rest now before marion and anna came for study tgt session.
au revoir! :)

my upcoming 2$ birthday
I really love my Germans friends, but when will they realise I dont speak German? T___T
When I said Germans friends I am referring to Anna, Florian, Tim and Isabel. Well, Anna is actually swiss German, but the rest are real Germans.
I get close to them cos I am really close to Anna now, besides Marion and SHJ of course.
And I always get along w Florian since the start of sch year. Now, everytime they wanna meet, they always drag me along, of course I am belated, except the fact that they always forget I dont speak German :(
Like the other day, during Tim's birthday, we were all gathering in Flo's room, wanted to make a surprise for Tim. And the whole time they spoke German. (tears again)
only when Tim arrived, Tim started speaking in English, only to have them reply in German, and after sometimes Tim gave up also (another tearss...)
A few days ago, the whole class was standing in a circle, waiting for teacher to arrive. Then Flo and Tim started to speak in German..blablablabla..then I heard "Vanessa"
and I was like "Huh? what about me?"
and Tim said "Vanessa u wanna come to eat at A la Carte w us on the 28th?"
and I was like "who's coming?"
(really praying that there are some non-Germans)
and fortunately there is..fiuhh~
and Flo is now into this girl called Stephanie, and she is Brazilian, so most PROB they will speak English =x
The other day Anna was very cute.
She was trying to find out my birthday the whole day, but I keep insisting not to tell her, cos I dont want to celebrate it. I dont enjoy getting old >.<
and she told Tim and Flo as well, that my bday is coming, and they also asked
Flo:" Vanessa so when is ur bday?"
V:"Not telling u"
Flo:"come on, its only bday, its nt impt"
V:"Precisely. its not impt" :p
and he gave up.
lol.
suddenly at night, at 9 pm when I was about to fall asleep, Anna came knocking on my door.
I opened and she was like
"HAHA! 10th of May! if you dont want ppl to know, u shld remove it from Facebook darling!"
(pointing finger at me while grining widely)
and I said sleepily "uh huh..yea..I should.."
and she suddenly jumped and hugged me "Goodnight!"
I tried to reply with a quarter of her energy.."goodnite dear..c u tmr.."
and I fell asleep again...ZZzz
SOOO now that my friends already find out my bday, and IF they really celebrate it, couting SHJ as well..MAN wad can i treat them too??
Hell, a meal in resto here costs 30 francs per person AT LEAST.
and w europeans, it will be 40 francs at least...
so its out of the qn..
Im considering prob just buying them shots..but only possible if not so many ppl coming..
goodness...this is the only bad thg abt having so many friends..
>.<>
(and if u wonder why i put 2$ bday, of cos becos I dont want u to noe my exact age! (getting oldd...tearssss...T_T) )

2 weeks in Market Place
2 weeks in Market Place is the most busiet yet the most amazing practical weeks.
wad we have to do in market place:
Breakfast duties :
- juices station : fill up juices
-yoghurt and cereal station : fill up
- pastry : same
- station 1,2, 3 where ppl are sitting: ask "would u like something to drink? coffee, tea or me?"
just kidding. "me" is not available.
more or less dats all we have to do
and then when everyone finish, we clean tables, chairs, broom and sweep floor and put back tables and chairs and line it nicely. salt and pepper facing teh door, one cm apart, etc etc..
Lunch duties:
-clean station: set up for new tables, prepare cutleries to give to service ppl, prepare water jugs to give to service ppl
-dirty station: get dirty plates from service ppl, scrap all e food away, and put it nicely, plates w plates, cups w cups, etc
-runner: fill empty water jugs w new ones, bring dirty plates into the kitchen, (usually piled up), and bring new cutleries when we run out
-service: attend to guest, memorize and explain menu, take plates when they finish, ask wad would they like to have next and give correct cutleries for the appropriate food.
I like runner and service the most, especially when it gets busy. When ist not busy u get bored, so I really like being busy. I was the only girl runner cos usually girls just want easy stuff and dont want to get tired, i really feel like saying
"COME ON GIRLS, u want to be treated equally like guys! but how do u expect them to treat u equal when u dont see urself equal and always say "oohh..im a girl, im so weak, i cant be runner.."
HO HO pitty u!
If i can do that, any other girls can do dat okay! U dont have to wait till u have like 20 piles of plates, noe ur own limit, carry wadever u can and just make more rounds to the kitchen. its really not that hard u noee
Anyway, yesterday was very fun also. and a very happy day for me.
cos it was an open day for Les Roches. so there were many visitors.
so from all the students who are working on that day, few of us (which I believe are the best :P) are chosen to attend to the visitors and VIPs.
Amongs those chosen there were me, Florian, Anna, Marion,Sondra(from Guyere), Tim, Charlene and Maria (Charlene and Maria are not mentioned often cos im not really close to them)
At first, I wanted to stay in dirty station and be runner, but suddenly the teacher called me and say "Vanessa, take this 2 tables for the visitors."
I swear I was so nervous. I have to serve wine as well, and I never serve wine before! wad if i spill everythg?? and as u noe, red wine stains is bloody hard to remove.
and since now I am moved to service I had to memorize the menu.
and its a bloody long one.
Finally when the guests arrive, tgt with Mr Hutchinson, one of the deans of the school, I came to them and greet them.
"Hi, good afternoon.."
They all smiled and replied me good afternoon (ok, good start)
then I said:"let me start with the menu for today, we have mixed garden salad for salad, for appetizer we have pate and terrine, for soup we have carrot cappucino..(waiting for their reaction)
and true enough, confusion looks appear on their faces.
so I explain"erm..its called cappucino because it looks like cappucino, with white foam on top."
then they say "ahhh.."
so I go on "as for the main course, we have grilled salmon escalope as well roast beef english style served with foyot sauce..and at side dish we have semolina gnocchi with sauteed baby marrow for the vegetable..and lastly at vegetarian station there is mixed vegetable cooked with curry and coconut.."
anddd..im DONE W MY MENUU
finally fiuhhh~~
then one of the lady asked :"Vanessa (they noe my name cos im wearing name tag), where do u come from?"
I answered :"Indonesia"
they ask again:"SO do u come directly from Indonesia to swiss?"
I said:" No..I was in Singapore for the last 6 years.."
They said:"ahh..no wonder you dont talk like Indonesian at all.."
lol
and another lady asked about my life in Spore, and I answered I was in SMU, and she asked why I didnt continue, and I said "yah..my calling is here..in hotel management.." lol
the rest of it went out well, even when i had to serve the wine to them.. :)
so proud of myself. huahahahaha
XD
Dinner duties:
-runner: top up plates, glasses and water jugs
-service: pour water to guest's glasses
ok dats all now. im gonna go to jenny's to eat her home made spring rolls!! yayyy
den wait for anna to wake up and eat our pizza :D
have a good day everyone ^.^

GREECE!!
OMG there is so much story I feel so lazy to begin...zzz
but I cannot, cos it is an event to remember..one day when i am 60, i want to open my blog and be able to remember everything..so here goes :)
A general info first, we spent 7 days 6 nights there.
1st night: Athens (capital city of Greece)
2nd night: Athens
3rd: Mykonos (one of the famous islands)
4th and 5th: Santorini (the famous for romantic island)
6th: Athens
FIRST DAY
We took an airline called BABOO, which is a French airline..and we are lucky to get a cheap deal of 259 euros for 2 way when usually the original fare is 500 euros.. We flew from Geneva (part of Swiss) to Athens in e morning at 7:50am, we reached Athens at 1pm in the aft.. Btw we began our journey w 4 of us: Shelly ( e loud one), Jenny( the sweet one), Vivi( a HK girl from sch) and me (the special one of cos :p) but when we reached Athens, Vivi went off w her fren. So SJ and me went to find our way to the hotel, AMALIA hotel to be precised. Luckily we looked up e map and found out that our hotel is in the middle of e city. wonderful! we thought. and apparently the shopping place is just at e square 100 metres away. (*shopping mode on*)
Once we reached our hotel, which we discovered actually was quite nice, except e service part..which really made me detest these ppl...I think they look at us and see we are young they decide not to give us a standard service and do not treat us like an adult..like wth, guest is still a guest no matter how young or old is she/he.
Anw moving on, once we drop our stuff, we decided not to waste our time and shop! so we walked around, eat a very nice kebab at NINANAV PITAPAN, and then walked around, I found a really nice heels at 30 euros ( dont worry I wont list all my shopping carts =x) and we proceed w the paradise of shopping..sadly we did not find much stuff on that day..I bought quite some stuffs which I think is quite a lot, but now after unpacking I really did not buy that many. surprise huh? O.o
At night we ate kebab again, and Mouslakas (a Greek food made of cheese, eggplant, beef, and potatos if im not wrong), and grilled seabass! The owner of the restaurant is 2 very nice guys, and when we asked them shld we stay in Mykonos longer or Santorini longer, they said Santorini, cos Mykonos is for gays. HAHA. We took their advices (which we regret later on, but thats another story). It was so funny the way he say it.
Jenny: "Erm...do u suggest we stay in Mykonos or Santorini longer?"
Him:" Santorini...Mykonos is for comsexual"(w a smile)
Us: -puzzled expressions-
Jenny:"AHhh...for homosexual!"
Shelly and me:"OOhhh.."
Him:"Are u dating each other?"
All of us:"NO NO NO..."rofl
After we had nice dinner, we continued our journey walking around but after 10pm we went back to hotel.
SECOND DAY
We had breakfast in the hotel, and then we went to the stop for the BUS TOUR (it goes around the city and u can stop and alight anytime u like, just like hippo tour in spore). It was 18 bucks which I thought was cheap at first, but after that I discovered It did not include the attraction fees. $@%$ SIAN. We spent most of our time in ACROPOLIS, which is the major historical attraction, there we found Panthegons. which is a buliding that once were used to pray to the Greek Gods and then taken over by Christianity era and used as a church, and after that was taken over by Muslim and was made as mosque. Some centuries later, it was hugely destroyed by one of the authority at that time. Now they are re-building it, so u can see in e pics that it is still in the process.
Beyond Acropolis, we stopped by at some museums, which made Jenny and Shelly really sleepy, and then we took e bus again and tour around e city, saw e HUGE ATHENS UNIVERSITY (if only Les roches buliding is that nice), and the stadium that is used for Olympic in 2004. We alighted some where around Monasteriki, and had our lunch, (no need to ask, YES ITS KEBAB AGAIN!) and I had one of the nicest SANGRIA (fruit red wine, tres magniqfique) and I actually got red. but its NOT e point, e point is u shld reallly try when u have e chance. its FKING NICE.
HWAAAAAAAAAAA I WAN SOME MOREEEEEEEEEEEEE T____________T and I had my really nice weird name ice cream, mine was NINANO i think. We really wanted to try all flavours but it was like 2 euros each. *tears!*
wait! i can actually put of e pic of Sangria!
Moving on from the nice Sangria, we went back to the hotel and waited for Vivi. She said she is going to go to Mykonos w us, so she is joining us tonite. The reason why she did not join us on the first day is bcos we told her we wanna go shopping, and she DOES NOT like shopping.
Sometimes I really cant believe there are girls who dont like shopping. >.<> W vivi and her fren, Wilson, we went to eat at Psiri, which is a clubbing and bar area, and we walked around without any interest to join any, cos all was Greece music anw.OOH OHH!! we found a shop that actually sell e paper to fold cannabis and other kind of smoke drugs..I dunno whether it was illegal or not.. and bottle of shisha, which Shelly kept exclaiming that she wants it (she is really into shisha in les roches). Went back feeling exhausted. I drop dead e moment I touched e bed.
THIRD DAY
The day of Mykonos!!! It started our very interesting. We took a big boat from Athens to Mykonos port and reach there stranded.Cos the hotel does not offer any pick up, so we had to actually took a bus, which stop at e "city area" cos it does not look like a city, and then we walked around dragging our suitcases through the amazingly small staircases, It was a really funny experience but there are not many pics sadly cos we were too fed up and tired cos we couldnt find it after 1 hr in mykonos maze and nobody cares about taking pictures. we really SHOULD have.
After 1 hr plus we found e hotel! its called SEMELI. v close to smelly, but actually its a pretty good hotel. w really nice lobby and swimming pool. Shelly's room and I was fantastic till e moment we found out water leaked from e bathroom >.< id="gwProxy" type="hidden">
us:"YES YES!!"
man:"can i see ur driving license?"
me and jenny took out ours.
man:"sorry i can only give out 2 scooters, no license no scooter"
jenny:"but we have 5 ppl..we cant leave 1 here.."
man:"no sorry..police..problem.."
jenny:"or..can we have 3 ppl on e scooter?"
man:"pay 15 euros more.." (it was 15 euros for 1 scooter 1 day)
me:"jenny wait we try first cos e scooter is heavy, w 2 ppl its alr diff. let alone 3."
jenny"okok"
so I tried first and GUESS WHAT. I ALMOST FELL. I know ROFL. wtf.i really did not know its so fking heavy. and so diff to balance. I SHOULD really try motorbike first. so shelly made a good decision. "lets just rent a car..i tink its safer and we can fit 5 ppl"
and u know who is driving??
MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! again: MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
yes babyyyy its meeeeee
ok I know i dont have to be so excited, but come on, there is a guy there and they chose me! of cos, becos e guy also said he hasnt drive for 3 years. and hell, I LOVE DRIVING SO MUCHHH!! i mean well i drive in indo, but this is in greece! and its in island, where the roads are totally different, w hills and dangerous turns as well. I really feel so good!! I think driving is the second thing i love most after shopping :D hee hee
let see if there are pic of e car. its kia i think.
ok there arent. not that impt anw. I have some really nice pics of beaches where we stopped and relax:
FOURTH DAY
We had to leave the Mykonos sadly and leave for Santorini. btw it only cost 40 euros to rent a car for a day, which i think is a really good idea if u want to go around e island.
Santorini is the island for couples. its quite, its romantic but it was too much for us. and to make matter worse, we chose the QUITEST part of santorini, Oia. PLEASE dont stay there if u are not w ur partner or spouse. I suggest to go to Fira. Its more for youths and more happening. The bars and restaurants are nice, and when we had to take e boat to the volcano islands, we have to go thru Fira too. its like e central area.
Shelly and me went to one of Fira's bar at night, but sadly it was not fun. :(
only 2 of us and ppl there are not so friendly, so yea. we went back and Shelly was a tad too high, and I swear it was really dark and scary when we walked thru e small staircases back to our "village".
And the hotel we stay, Residence Suite, IS NOT A SUITE AT ALL!!!!
E place was so ancient, and it had an eerie feeling. so old and so gloomy.
and u noe wad, Oia was discussed to be the vampire island. NICE, isnt it??
but yea, we went back safely without any "pleasant" surprise.
Altho we had to sleep without showering cos it was too fking scary.
FIFTH DAY
We rent a car and drove to the black sand beaches. We got lost most of e time, but it is so fortunate that Jenny is good in reading map, she sat beside me e whole time, while Shelly and Vivi slept at e back, at this time Wilson went back to England alr. only 4 of us left.
Actually I dont mind ppl sleep when im driving, cos it means that they feel quite safe and they trust me. :)
(or maybe they just too tired hell they cant be bothered to think =x)
After the black beaches, we wanted to go to Ancient Thira, and on the way i ALMOST knock into a boy!! I swear it was so close!! he was riding bicycle and he just roommm towards me. and I pressed e brake just a second earlier, or not....I can't imagine wad happen..w e mother just opposite e road some more.. GOD..
At Ancient Thira, after climbing a very steep and scary hills, we found nothing but a grave..Dunno why Jenny was so excited to go up, but after we almost reach e grave she said she does not want to continue anymore..=.=
I prayed for a while and we left..
Oh ya, when we return from volcano trip, we had a chance to ride donkey!! U know wad, I always thought donkey is so small and cute like eeyore in winnie e pooh, but its actually quite huge!
and e funny thing is, they put Vivi and Jenny tgt on one donkey, and e seat is too small for both of them, They were swaying e whole time, Shelly and I had laughed our ass off the whole journey. which is pretty mean, cos Jenny was so scared she would fall off.. >.<>
SIXTH DAY
We return to Athens, had really nice sleep in, and spent our last day shopping, which was a mad rushing event, cos e shop only opens at 11 or 12 pm, and we have to come back to hotel at 1 pm. it was so funny. i bought some more clothes but cant find nice heels in time :(
and we fly back home..back to where we belong... lol
That was e end of our wonderful, full of laughter journey and I was really glad it wasnt difficult at all travelling w Jenny and Shelly, even for e finance part, Jenny is so organized she record evrything, so we dont have any miscommunication or wadsoever, cos it is not easy dealing w so much expenses..
My advice when travelling w a large number of ppl and some lessons learnt:
1. put one person in charge of food, one in charge of hotel and one in charge of transport.
At the beginning of the journey, give each person a certain amt of money, eg: 500 euros
the person is responsible to record all e expenses that is in that area, it is easier for us and more fair for evrythg cos we share all e foos, and everyone eats e same amount, im not sure for guys tho..
at the end of e journery, if there is any balance, spread evenly among everyone.
2. do not assume all e angmoh/tourists in ur country is from French or England, because we found it extremely irritating when ppl keep saying "Ni hao ni hao" or "konbanwa" and assume we are either chinese or japanese.
So dont do that to them as well.
3. give tips everywhere u go. eventhough ur country do not use this method, but tip is a must in Europe. how much u want to give is up to u. for us its at most 10% of e total bill.
Dats about it.
I will close this w my new resolution: TO LOSE 5 kg!!!!
fuck im so fat now u cant believe it. dont say in pics i look okay, cos e angles are good!!
Shelly was like looking at my pics last time and say
"ohh u are so slim last time..u must get back into that shape"
I dont hate ppl who are honest cos they r doing taht for my own good.
here comes diet regime!!!
Goodnite evrybody!! *hearts hearts* <3
